From Idea to Movement: The Journey of The Libyan Collective Celebrating Libyan Culture
Hey there, folks! Let me tell you a little story about how The Libyan Collective came to be. Libya has a rich and diverse culture that unfortunately hasn't always received the recognition it deserves.
I started the Libyan Tales page on Instagram and Twitter to showcase the history and culture of Libya, something that had been suppressed during the Gaddafi era. But I didn't want it to be just a one-person show. So, I introduced account takeovers, where Libyans from all over the world could share the amazing things they were doing with the world. It's been incredible to see the talent and creativity of the Libyan people.
And then, I thought, why not take it a step further? That's when Libyan Words and Libyan Epigrams were born. Libyan Words celebrates the unique words that are part of the Libyan dialect - words that are often poetic and filled with meaning, whilst the Libyan Epigrams page shares the many old pearls of pure wisdom in the form of idioms and sayings that have been woven into the fabric of Libyan life.
“From Libya comes something new”
But why stop there, right? I want to show the world just how amazing Libya and its people are, and I want to do it entertainingly and engagingly. So, I make sure to keep the content fresh and fun, with plenty of beautiful photos and videos, as well as interesting stories and tidbits about Libya's culture and history.
